Brose Motors

Brose motors are known for their use of belts. This is what underwrites their smoothness, but also their flaw, as the belts need regular maintenance. All Brose motors can be almost fully rebuild. Brose motors are popular in Specialized bicycles (Turbo 1.x and Turbo 2.x), as well as under their own brand (Brose S Alu, Brose S Mag, and more).

At BiciFix, we can carry out all repairs on Brose motors – from changing belts to replacing all internal parts.

How do I get My Motor Repaired?

Motor Repair Process

To have your e-bike motor repaired, contact us and give us a brief description of the problem, a photo of the bike, and a video of the problem.
We will send a courier to pick the motor from your location. If you need assistance removing the motor from the bike, we can offer advice and tools to remove it.
When we receive the motor, we make a quick diagnostic video of its state.
The motor is cleaned, in order to reveal any problems visible from the outside.
We open and revise the internal state of the motor. We will send a report of the insides and wait for your inpout in order to continue with the repair.
Once approved, we proceed with the repair of the motor.
We test the motor in one of our test bikes, and send it back to your location.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are the motor parts for sold separately in order to perform repairs at home?

Yes, of course, if you wish to carry out maintenance yourself, you can purchase tools, bearings, parts and maintenance kits from our online shop.

Do you work with bike shops?

Yes, a lot of our clients are other bike shops, that don’t have the space, or time to complete these repairs. Contact us for our B2B conditions.

Which motors does BiciFix repair?

At present, at BiciFix we repair Bosch, Brose, Shimano and Yamaha motors. We will soon have Shimano parts and motors in stock.

Can I send just the motor or the entire bike?

We accept both options. If you bring or send us the bicycle, we will also check the assembly and adjustments.

If you send us the motor separately, it is essential that you make a video of the motor demonstrating the problem before dismantling it.

What is the price for a motor repair?

The quote depends on the condition of your engine, as well as its model and brand. When we receive an engine, we clean it and assess its condition. We send you photos of the internal condition along with a quote for the necessary changes and repairs.

The most basic service — cleaning, evaluation and lubrication — costs between €90 and €120 (depending on the engine), while a complete repair, with all bearings replaced, can cost between €350 and €450.

How much time is needed for a motor repair?

Actual repair time is 1-2 days. Most motors abe back to clients in 5-10 days (due to shipping and time needed for tests).

Can the motor be repaired if it is still under warranty?

Nuestra recomendación es que revises el estado de tu motor cada 6 meses. Muchos problemas del motor se pueden detectar sin abrirlo – ruidos, holguras, defectos en la carcasa – todos estos defectos son suficientes para tramitar un caso de garantía con el fabricante. En cualquier caso, si abrimos el motor, vas a perder la garantía oficial.

Is there a guarantee on the repair?

Our warranty for all repairs is 6 months for the work we have done. Please note that if we have repaired the mechanical part, this does not include a warranty for the electronics.

Do you issue invoices for repairs?

For all repairs, we issue an invoice and a repair sheet, which includes the condition of the engine, the repairs carried out, and the parts used.
